Ice Climbing trip to La Grave 2008

Over the past few years, we have spent two weeks in early January ice climbing and skiing around La Grave in France. La Grave is near Grenoble and fairly accessible by plane to either Geneva or Grenoble then by car to the village itself. The village sits at the base of La Meije, the stunningly beautiful mountain that provides an off-piste ski descent of 2,150 metres. Nearby there are local ski tows and within a short drive are the busier ski resorts of Les Deux Alpes and Alp d'Huez.

For 2008 we are planning a Talisman Activities trip to La Grave so if you are interested in joining, please contact me using the link on the left-hand side of this page.

The trip is aimed at people with experience of winter climbing and skiing who wish to do their own "thing" in a new area but who would like the advantages of being with other climbers and skiers who are familiar with the area.

Instruction by a qualified British Mountain Guide such as Smiler could be arranged on request.
